Has over 40 weight gain have you suffering from a butt that seems to get wider every time you look in the mirror? Does your heinie sag to the back of your knees? Does your booty look like a bowl of cottage cheese? Does your butt need a lift? If you can answer yes to any of these questions then I have the solution for your over 40 weight gain and that dreaded wide butt syndrome!
I’m a hardcore, die hard Shaun T fan and I LOVE Insanity and Insanity: The Asylum because I love to be challenged when it comes to my cardio workouts. So when I decided to do Brazil Butt Lift it surely wasn’t because I thought it was going to be like a Shaun T workout. I really wanted to focus on toning up my butt and thighs and rid myself of that “after 40 weight gain butt jiggle” and give it a more sexier shape.
Since Brazil Butt Lift is a 30 day program, I decided to do it as a supplement to my 30 day Insanity: The Asylum workout. I know call me crazy for doing two workouts at once but I figured BBL wouldn’t be so intense that I couldn’t add it to my Asylum workout. Besides, I was gonna do BBL in the morning and then do Asylum in the evenings. I really just wanted to focus on toning and shaping my lower body while I also got my daily dose of Shaun T.
Well to my surprise I was in for a bit of a shocker. I decided to do the BBL Combination Classic workout and I was only going to do the lower body focused workouts since I was getting my cardio and core workout from Asylum. The first workout of the program is Bum Bum which means “booty” in Brazil. I totally underestimated the intensity level of this workout. It was pretty fast paced but low impact with high intensity. Since you’re working your lower body, you’re using your large muscle groups by combining a series of squats and lunges along with other moves which causes your heart rate to increase. I found my heart rate hitting 160 and pretty much staying in the 155-160 range for the duration of the workout. I was totally not expecting this because my heart rate usually gets this high and higher during my Insanity/Asylum workouts. I was able to work up a sweat and was pretty drenched by the end of the workout.
Although I was expecting a more “dancey” and choreographed workout, I noticed that there were some similarities in moves between BBL and Insanity like plyo lunges and football drills with a little Brazilian twist. There were still some exercises that were a little more “dance-like” but the basic exercise before adding the “dance like” move was exactly like exercises I’ve done in Insanity. Although BBL comes across as a booty shaking workout that incorporates lower body toning exercises, it is an excellent workout to burn fat without the intense plyometrics associated with Insanity workouts. It’s a great workout for beginners especially if you want an effective workout for burning fat as well as toning and tightening those lower body trouble spots. Other great workouts included in this program are High and Tight, Sculpt and Tummy Tuck as well as a bonus workout Secret Weapon which will do the job all by itself.
Getting and staying fit after 40 and stopping over 40 weight gain is no easy task but when you incorporate high intensity interval training cardio workouts like Insanity or a low impact, high intensity workout like Brazil Butt Lift and maintain a “clean diet” then you will reach your fitness goals and keep the weight off.
I am so glad I am NOT alone. My last round of Insanity gave pumped up my butt and thighs. I felt so strong.
