ChaLEAN Extreme Push Phase

Today I did the fitness program, ChaLEAN Extreme Push Circuit 3 workout. I’m currently doing a hybrid workout using ChaLEAN Extreme and Insanity.  I started doing this hybrid about two weeks ago and I really like this combination of fitness programs. Having done both workouts before and wanting to continue to change my workout on a regular basis I decided to mix ChaLEAN Extreme with Shaun T’s, Insanity.  My previous hybrid was a 30 day hybrid of P90X and Insanity: The Asylum fitness programs.

What I truly love about Chalene Johnson’s, ChaLEAN Extreme, fitness program is that it is so comprehensive and it is great for building lean muscle and helping to burn fat.  I’m currently doing the Push Phase of ChaLEAN Extreme which is the second phase of this three phase fitness program.  In the Push Phase, Chalene makes you lift heavier weights but with fewer reps. She wants you to reach failure at 6-8 reps as opposed to lifting lighter weights and reaching failure at 10 -12 reps in the other two phases.

Normally when doing this fitness program each phase would consist of four weeks each.  The first phase is the Burn Phase followed by the Push Phase and ending with the Lean Phase.  Each phase as three circuits and each circuit focuses on different muscle groups.  For my hybrid program, I’m doing a different phase each week alternating my resistance workout with an Insanity cardio workout.

The way Chalene Johnson has designed this fitness program you can’t help but see great results and reach your fitness goals.  What makes it even more amazing is that each circuit is about 30 minutes.  So whether you’re doing it for the first time or doing a hybrid workout using ChaLEAN Extreme you’ll always get a comprehensive workout.  Although it’s considered an advanced workout, Chalene has someone in the video showing you the modified version of each workout and also has someone using resistance bands. So, I highly recommend this fitness program for any fitness level.  I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised at your results.

    I know this is an old post. But I wanted to make sure…. You do a different phase each week? Burn, then Push, then Lean? I was asking because. I am getting ready to start the lean phase next week, but wanted to do the program again and this might be a fresh way to do it the next time through. I am doing it as a hybrid with TurboJam/TurboFire and Hip Hop Abs.

      Hi Laura,

      Actually, you do a different phase each month or every 4 weeks. Since completing the initial 90 days, I have completed a different phase each week as a hybrid w/Asylum. It was actually very effective this way and I spent a longer time on the lean phase. I believe ChaLEAN Extreme is the perfect program to a as a hybrid because the routines are under 45 min but very effective workouts and you don’t have a lot of time to devote to working out.
