I started week 3 of my ChaLEAN Extreme and Insanity hybrid. My workout today was Push Circuit 1. Push circuit 1 targets biceps, triceps and lower body. What I love about the Push month is that Chalene makes you lift heavy but you’re only doing 6-8 reps for each exercise. So I’m pushing myself on each exercise to go heavy failing anywhere between the 6th to 8th rep. If you can go beyond 8 reps during this phase then you’re not lifting heavy enough. The way Chalene Johnson, the creator of TurboJam and TurboFire, designed this program you can’t help but see great results. Each phase serves a unique purpose within the overall fitness program. The Push phase focuses on helping you to build muscle. Chalene constantly reminds you to not be afraid of muscle and that muscle DOES NOT bulk you up. Muscle helps you to get lean, tighter and more defined.
To reach my overall fitness goals which is to lose between 7-9% body fat and get more defined abs, I really have to focus on my diet. I’m always looking at areas of improvement. I eat clean every day but I know to get more defined abs or a six pack then my results will rely heavily on what I eat so I’m always reading what fitness professionals eat or eliminate from their diets when they’re training for a competition. One thing that I need to start doing again is tracking my diet or keeping a food journal. At times I feel like I’m not getting enough calories in my diet as my workouts get tougher and more demanding and I have to remind myself that in order to reach my goals I may have to increase my caloric intake. I just found that I have to have the right balance for me in order to see results.
I know how difficult it is for someone my age to lose weight and get in great shape. Each day of this process is a journey and each day I learn more and get closer to my goal. This is not an easy journey so it’s always great to surround yourself with positive people who will always motivate you and help you to stay on task. When you’re on any self improvement journey you’ll soon realize who your supporters are and who the toxic people in your life are. Since becoming a Beachbody customer and later a Beachbody Coach, I have met some amazing people who have the same goals that I do and who are my biggest supporters and is ALWAYS there to offer some words of encouragement. If you want to be successful in anything you do you have to surround yourself with winners and people who have already succeeded. That’s why I like the Beachbody community. Join a community where everyone is committed to reaching their goals and helping you to reach yours.
